CHANT-ON Reggae band was formed as one of the most important instruments of the less privilaged.
CHANT-ON is an endless source of intellectual and spiritual insight and a keen commentator on society as well.
CHANT-ON’s music, featuring the shining lead vocals of Harrison Gabriel, is solidly roots, - perfectly executed and delivered with genuine emotional fervor. Harriman’s devotion to the traditional Rastafarians values of purity, simplicity and justice is exemplified by Chant-on’s lyrical themes.
Cyril Asamota will probably be best remembered for the impact CHANT-ON had on reggae scene, one of the founding members of the band.
Harrison and Cyril quickly developed a reputation as a fearsome performing group. The group put in a stunning performance at the "Freedom Concert"in "Caribic Bar" in july 2005. And since then, CHANT-ON has not displayed any signs of slowing down, as CHANT-ON continued to gig at least one concert in a month.
The music talks about freedom, Unity, justice, love, hate, the human race and rat race.

Harrison Gabriel is a singer/songwriter, who’s style is best described as "future-roots-reggae". A new culturesque, cutting-edge, massage driven sound with lyrical content revealing moods of deep thought and concious rhetoric livicated to dealing with social awareness, justice, peace, love and i-nity, truth and rights, spiritual upliftment, righteous living and redemption. Coupled with a formidable and distinct vocal delivery with rang, smoothness and tempered intensity
The foundation of CHANT-ON is based on a love and respect for Jamaican music and culture. It is this sentiment which gave birth to CHANT-ON and has become the thread which has kept them together for years and counting while their music is clearly more reggae than any other style, as west African natives, they’re always added their own flavor to the mix-up.
The group has a remarkable list of achievements, none of which have been at the hands of single record company, management team, or"distribution" deal.
CHANT-ON takes pride in their ability to play many styles, while their first love is for roots-reggae, they also play dancehall.
At live shows, it’s not uncommon to hear original lyrics over a hip-hop rhythm either. Switching and combining styles has given the band a unique appeal amongst reggae listeners and non-listeners alike.
At a time when elements of reggae and dancehall music fires the pop charts CHANT-ON is primed for national and international success. Until then, CHANT-ON-band continue to narrow the gap between their independent success and wider national and international exposure.
You will also be exposed to the rebirth of modern roots-reggae, bands from arround the world such as - CULTURE, BURNING SPEAR, GROUNDATION and many more - less, roots-reggae is currently enjoying a renaissance all over the globe, and you will hear it all from CHANT-ON-band.
With big influence from CULTURE, BURNING SPEAR, STEEL PULSE and STEVE ALABOH, this new and unique band brings a refreshing rock vibes to roots style reggae music.
